MMM MMM Good!

Veeshan's Fury is working hard to push through Meldrath's Magnificent Mansion on our way to Crystallos! The zone definitely has its annoyances (okay, the guy that designed Breakneck's spawn mechanics needs to be put on public toilet duty) and too much trash clearing, but we're pushing our way through.

Since the last update (where we had defeated Breakneck) we have moved on to destroy three more of the events here.

Krond really makes you pay if you don't fight him the right way. Best way to kill him is to wax the floor so he slips getting out of bed and breaks his stupid neck.

(Sorry it's not a corpse shot, but he died.)
Congrats to Jhenna (Gyro Core: Dedicant), Oosil (Gyro Core: Purification), Boondak (Steamwork Engineer's Waistband) and Silvs (Ring of Molten Alloy).

Following up our Krond win, we settled in to figure out one of the more retarded events around, Doctor Brinda Sprockets. Fairly confusing at first, but once we figured it out it's become pretty much a no-fail farm in a matter of no time.

Winners of Brinda loot include Aredhiel (Gyro Core: Druadic), Glaum (Gyro Core: Dream), Zdinka (Impromptu Body Protector), and Gerticle (Jingling Alloy Loop).

Things get a bit more complicated when it's time to engage Seneschal Bargangle Tinkerson. He has several pals including Geartop, more robots, and a clumsy brownie. More controlled chaos than you can shake a dipstick at!

He fell to the Fury anyway!

Congrats to Tinkas (Gyro Core: Martialism), Zemm (Gyro Core: Dream), Haysleyez (Hydraulic Crushblade), and Jerras (Auto-Aiming Steamcoiled Recurvinator).

That just leaves two events to finish here to begin flagging Veeshan's Fury for Crystallos raiding.

Tactical Prototype XXVII and Meldrath the Malignant. Look for an update featuring their corpse shots very soon!

In other news, we only did a few of the fabled events this time around.

The Fabled Rathe Council dropped some pretty good stuff:

Congrats to Karian (Fabled Earthen Bile), Aneurin (Fabled Sword of Primordial Power), and Optamas (Fabled Chestguard of Enchanted Marble).

And the oldie but goodie, a trip through Plane of Time all the way to Fabled Quarm!

Congrats to Ljes (Fabled Silver Hoop of Speed), Oosil (Fabled Stone of Flowing Time), Chenresig (Fabled Earthen Bracer of Fortitude), and Morrbidd (Shawl of Eternal Forces).

As usual, I'll mention that we are looking for excellent players to join our ranks! Visit our messageboard and apply today!

Jeeves, We have guests!!!

Over the last couple months, VF has really started to ramp it up. The increase in the level cap, new spells/skills/AA, and some excellent SoD group loot has really allowed us to take our game to the next level.

In fact, in lieu of our recent SoF raid successes, Meldrath the Malignant was kind enough to invite us over to his crib. So being the fun loving bunch that Veeshan's Fury are, we were most anxious to accept. Well, quickly we found out he was a most ungracious host. After getting used to the bazillion trash mobs (does killing gnomes ever really get old though?), and understanding the raid mechanics of Breakneck, Master at Arms, the deligence of our efforts was finally rewarded.

Congrats to the following:

Breakneck, Master at Arms: Fayve on Gyro Core: Intensity, Gregur on Gyro Core: Druadic, Gitz on Steamgineer's Trinket of Station, and Aneurin on Steam-Valve Girdle

We're pretty anxious to get to some gnome/clockwork boss bashing, so expect this guy to be taking a nap of the dirt variety very soon:

In other SoF news, since our last update we have also put Ralkor Bloodmoon and Bimbalicus the SoulBleeder (Death to Gnomes!!!) on farm status. Seeing the upper end SoF raid loot come into the guild has been most exciting!

On our first kills, Congrats to the following:

Ralkor Bloodmoon: Terranis on Gyro Core: Martialism, Catan on Gyro Core: Dream, Cheyennethunder on Earring of the Carnophage, and Abif on Ring of the Ripping Claw

Bimbalicus the Soulbleeder: Idaen on Gyro Core: Druadic, Sufi on Gyro Core: Intensity, Nilbog on Dark Redeemer's Bludgeon, and Lilbitbad on Black Shroud of Pennance

Finally, our successes on the raid front have also carried over to the current expansion. We already have two of the three Tier I raids on Farm Status. Rottrued the Twisted and Queen Malarian. We plan to give General Bahgresh in Bloody Kithicor a visit shortly.

On our first kills, Congrats to the following:

Rottrued the Twisted: Bulbous on Rottrued's Ear, Dolgar on Wrext Mal Mundunugu Coif, and Cininigan on Rottrued's Maul

Queen Malarian: Tenamcex on Bile Etched Ritual Dagger, Linq on Tsetsian Plague Skin Shawl, and Zemm on Malarian Spittle Pendant

That's it for this update. And if interested, VF is always recruiting. Please check us out if you are interested!

Until next time, a few quotes and a little extra to tide ya over!

Marching Toward Crystallos

Mere days after my last post (in fact, the next day), Fury continued to post first kills on Shadows of Faydwer events!

Overseer Gakkor Deepscar:

Tons of fun! There's a lot going on with this guy; between avalanches, golems that kill you if you aren't hugging them, crystals that mesmerize you, and endless waves of adds, there's barely enough time to /poke a gnome! Amazingly, this event took us all of two raid evenings to defeat!

Congrats to Prisella (Deepscar Painsmasher), Ratath (Dragonscar Facemask), Glower (Ancient Hardened Bracer), and Glaum (Ancient Hardened Gauntlets).

Then a quick jaunt to good ol' Brittania to visit everyone's favorite clockwork, Big Bynn:

Did I even mention that we defeated him our very first try? Way to go Fury!

Congrats to Subash (Coilsteam Mechanomantle), Deputy Dorf (Silvered Earstud of the Sanguine), Lenadwen (Ancient Hardened Bracer), and Talana (Ancient Scaled Boots).

That completes the events needed to flag Fury for Meldrath's Magnificent Mansion (MMM) raiding! Hours and hours of trash clearing, here we come!!11!one

Flush with our SoF success, we went back to Solteris to show that orc (and his leetle friend Aprosis) what's what:

Let's move on deeper into Solteris, shall we? Congrats to Reignn (Totem of Corruption), Irena (Gorget of Corruption), and Retrojuggalo and Aredhiel (Corrupted Drop of Focused Sunlight).

During this (after-)Thanksgiving week, I'd like to note a small part of what I am thankful for (EQ-Wise): My excellent fellow officers Abgnomel, Abif, Gestyn, Lilbitbad, Rylak, Slithern, and Thalas; my friends and family in the guild that keep this game interesting and fun after almost ten years; and Sony Online Entertainment for continuing to support Everquest with a typical love-hate thing.

Screenies!

As always, Veeshan's Fury is recruiting outstanding Everquest players on the Bristlebane server! Please use the links on the right side of this page to visit our messageboard and come post your application if you qualify! See ya next time.

Some of This, Some of That, Some of What-Have-You

Fury has been all over the place in the last couple of months. After my last post, we moved into Solteris and defeated the first event, Mayong's Mistresses! (Also known as the Sisters event, these are the same hussies from Demi-Plane of Blood):

Congrats to Zeddecus (Althea's Black Pearl Choker), Weavel (Brenda's Lavender Cinch), Lenadwen and Tenamcex (Tiny Phosphene Cluster).

Moving down the road a bit... Does anyone think Mayong is a megalomaniac?

The next event involves a huge orc and his pals:

Solteris events (so far) are extremely dps-sensitive. Although we have been farming the entirety of The Serpent's Spine (TSS) expansion for months, we've been royally screwed on weapons drop rates. Everyone has complained to SoE about this fact but it doesn't seem to have done any good. How long can they expect you to farm the same stuff?

It really gets old after a while. Fix it! Or don't, I guess we don't care at this point.

So... we figured that we'd try some of the Secrets of Faydwer (SOF) raids that supposedly have good weapon drop rates. That way we can boost our dps, then go back and hit the Solteris events that are giving us trouble. Time to visit the Steam Factory!

So, the first one we tried was a rather large, semi-sentient bucket of bolts, the Mining Behemoth:

He didn't take long to smoke, but stay away from the hole. That means you, Kire.

Congrats to Weavel (Ancient Velvet Robe), Dethrin (Ancient Scaled Coat), Lashden (Visage of the Grand Engineer), and Irena and Tinkas on Whirring Clockwork Runes.

It's always fun to kill gnomes. They squeal nicely and leave a pasty little corpse. It's especially satisfying when a gnome is pretending to be a big monster, like our friend Chief Mechanic Clankwrench:

This is a fun fight! Especially when the first tank eats a huge deathtouch by getting too close to the lightning thingy behind him.

We soon kicked his metal ass:

Congrats to Nilbog (Ancient Velvet Robe), Strummin ( Ancient Hardened Breastplate ), Oglops (Benevolent Mender's Mantle), and Garrfunkel (Industrial Tinkered Drillbore).

Another event in the Steam Factory is Spindlecrank - this one is tough! He feigns death on the raid, blinds, has adds that drop bombs, other adds try to heal him, vents dispense poison gas on the raid, and rabid badgers appear that steal everyone's wallets.

Despite all of this, Fury multitasks well:

Congrats to Mystere and Gestyn (Slick Oil-Ring of Protection), Glaum (Ancient Hardened Helm), and Zemm (Ancient Hardened Breastplate).

And just like that, Fury has cleared all of The Steam Factory! Way to go everyone!

Now that we're on a roll, let's take on that gigantic spider that so terrifies the folks exping in Fortress Mechanotus, Octa the Collector!

Exterminated. Squished. Lewts collected.

Congrats to Strummin (Crushing Demolisher), Kire (Loop of Cruel Ingenuity), Glower (Steel-Welded Plate Bracer), and Ruven (Steel-Welded Ringmail Gauntlets).

We haven't forgotten Solteris, and will definitely be back there ASAP for more fun with orcs, spiders, and loose women. We're enjoying the change of pace in SoF though!

Now, a few of those wonderful chat funnies.

That's a Wrap

Just a short update today.

Veeshan's Fury has been plugging away at the last encounter in The Serpent's Spine expansion, the infamous Lethar 3.0. He was originally 2.0, (second encounter with him in North Ashengate) but for some reason Sony changed the encounter over a year after the expansion, making it considerably more difficult - therefore the 3.0 moniker.

To refresh your memory, this fight involves fighting Lethar while his GFF Selay complains. Then she joins in, and it's a party in the hottub!

Guilds that defeated this fight (and moved on) months ago were able to move Selay away from the raid and park her, effectively making this a one-dragon fight. That isn't allowed any more, so it's a two-fer.

After trying various positions (!) and group combinations, we hit upon the magic combination that let us see this:

Congrats to Arkmaud (A Timeworn Chestguard Mold), Strummin (A Timeworn Chestguard Mold), Abgnomel (Embroidered Wool Band of Poetry), Prisella (Spiked Bracelet of the Betrayer), and Gitz (Ebonheart of Lethar the Black).

So... Fury has wrapped up all encounters in TSS! Way to go everyone!!

This led the citizens of Katta to wonder why their rent went up:

...it's because Fury is now commuting to here:

A few funnies.

TSS Heats Up

As predicted previously, Fury has rapidly clobbered the hot side of the TSS expansion.

Some of these events are fun and some aren't so fun.

Ashengate West!

Ambersnout kinda sucks:

Follow the leader was the shizzle in nursery school, but now that we don't crap our pants on a regular basis (at least most of us) we've had about enough of that.

Using our sekret floating gnome tactics, we vanquished him.

Congrats Ratath (Sharpening Stone of the Sky), Ilsidri (Hardened Coalstone of Purity), and Calidrin (Ambersnout's Snout).

The Attendants of Sothgar raid is a strange one. In a bizarre twist of events, it involved Rylak's thumb. If you've ever done it then you may know what I mean; if not, let your imagination go wild.

Dead Attendants:

Congrats Sabbu (Arcane Actuator) and Abgnomel (Etched Pearl of Ever-Ice).

To finish off Ashengate West, we had a go at this guy:

Dead first try!

Congrats Candaten (A Timeworn Glove Mold), Svetlanavera (A Timeworn Armguard Mold), Zraki (Crimson Mask of Triumph), and Lilbitbad (Cinderskin Buckler).

Now onto Ashengate East:

Stitch's Ambush is fun, controlled chaos:

And so is the momo himself:

Not too hard though!

Congrats to Omekax (A Timeworn Boot Mold), Drathkin (A Timeworn Glove Mold), Gestyn (Cloak of the Scarlet Legion) and Wani (Everflame Torch of Ashengate).

This leads us on to Ashengate North!

I don't have a screenshot of Dyn`Leth's army, but we toasted them fast. Followed by another mini event, Shade of Veldyn:

Congrats to Hamner (Clipped Griffon Wings) and Azeke (Pristine Granite Stone).

Now the good stuff starts!

Did somebody say they saw a dragon in here?

Not for long.

Congrats to Wani (A Timeworn Boot Mold and A Timeworn Glove Mold), Nilbog (Hoop of Elemental Mastery), and Tenamcex (Scaleguardian's Guise).

Dyn`Leth is one of the cooler looking mobs we've seen in a while:

And he keels over and dies nicely.

Congrats to Lashden (A Timeworn Skullcap Mold), Ravinor (A Timeworn Armguard Mold), Tinkas (Darkfell Fingerbone Necklace), Zasanil (Dyn`leth's Spy Glass), and Aredhiel (Serpent's Essence). Nice loot!

Finally, we come to the last encounter of TSS, the odd couple. There was much speculation about the mechanics of their, ahem, getting together. Well then one of them turned into a dragon and we let out a collective ahhh!

This encounter may take a few more tries:

Well that's a seriously long update, I'll just leave you with a little Ravinor abuse (why is it always the SK's?):

Stay Frosty, Part Deux

After the fun distraction that was Fableds 2008, Fury returned to progression with a mission: to complete the Frostcrypt 2 raid.

We had a lot of fun with the tricky Overseer:

He kept us busy for a while as we tried different things to try to kill him while his gremlins made general nuisances of themselves. (I don't have a kill pic but we toasted him.)

Congrats to Ljes (Iridescent Pearl of Icy Precision) and Sabbu (Fire-Runed Icepearl). These loots may be from an earlier event, my recordkeeping leaves something to be desired some nights.

Since I no longer watch Gladiator movies, I don't have a screenshot of Wulfnor's corpse either =( Rest assured, he wound up in a Turkish Prison (to his surprise). Congrats to Tenamcex, (A Timeworn Glove Mold), Garinus (A Timeworn Armguard Mold), Lashden (Runed Necklace of Living Bone), and Calidrin (Carved Blood Ice Choker).

The next night, we came up against this guy:

A few tries later (okay, several), Fridleif, Master Warcraft enjoyed a faceplant vacation:

Congrats to Lilbitbad (A Timeworn Bracer Mold), Shiftie (A Timeworn Glove Mold), Gestyn (Ice Enameled Gorget of Battle) and Lashden (Scorched Froststeel Ring).

That let us move into a strangely empty room with one momo cowering at the back. Not very kingly there, Beltron:

On our VERY FIRST attempt (and another jaw-dropper it was), we MADE HIM DEAD!

I've gotta say, that was damn unexpected. Lots of good tankage, healage, and of course the magic assling there in the foreground were the keys to our success. Along with a few kick-ass officers calling commands and the Fury machine functioning like the well-oiled machine that it can be when we really try.

WTF FURY!

(Pardon me, had to get that out).

We'll slide these raids onto our farm list. Time to turn our attention to Ashengate. Expect to see us burning through those ASAP!

Now for something completely different!

Mistells are our bread and butter.

Abif keeps us in stitches.

Kire is... Kire.

Let's just pile it on.

That's it for this update! Remember, Veeshan's Fury is accepting applications for most classes from great players. Visit our messageboard at the link on the right and check out our Recruits Applications forum if you're interested in joining us!

Falbed Fun!

Fury has had a great time killing Fabled mobs in the last month! Planes of Power was a favorite expansion of many of us, so revisiting those zones to get new gear was great fun.

Even when a dev got a bit careless with their typing:

Congrats to Cheyennethunder, Oglops and Leezaard (Fabled Scintillating Feather Mask) - okay so she only had one loot.

Plane of Fire gave up tons of goodies. Our friend, old tight-ass Blazzax was a chump:

Congrats to Calidrin, Ilsidri and Nilbog on Fabled Cape of Flames!

We had a couple of exciting, low numbers kills on the Rainman himself, Agnarr the Stormlord. Seen here, he appears to be sexually harassing Mystere even in death.

Congrats to Tumblenikki and Zemm (Fabled Amulet of the Rain), as well as Kylerion (Fabled Longbow of the Stormcaller).

The Fabled Aerin `Dar was a fun fight, with that lovely fear making the raid run around like Rylak in pursuit of a Vienna Sausage. Our knights really shined on this one:

Congrats to Glaum and Slithern (Fabled Valorous Quarterstaff) and Subash (Fabled Ring of Nobility).

Everyone knows and loves the bird that shadowsteps the entire raid constantly, The Fabled Quavonis Firetail:

Congrats to Leante, Prisella and Sabbu (Fabled Cloak of Combustion).

Moving into Sol Ro's Tower, the minis were hard to find up due to pickup raids going on while most of us were at work or school. Once in a while we did manage to kill firepants himself:

Congrats to Beornie, Faeggas and Lashden on Fabled Gauntlets of the Burning Prince.

Finally the big badass himself, the crowd favorite The Fabled Warlord, Rallos Zek! His event was somewhat challenging due to one of the Zek brothers being fabled (with no loot tho) and his own ass-beatery. We did manage to smoke him a few times:

Congrats to Debanie and Solsticemoon (Fabled War Charm of Crossed Blades), as well as Mystere (Fabled Red Eyed Mask of Rage). Oh, and yours truly managed to score a Fabled Blade of War in one truly epic, jaw-dropping win! I will love him and call him George.

Not pictured here, but we also killed the following Fableds:
Fabled Terris Thule, Fabled Rinturion Windblade, Fabled Saryrn (Plane of Time), Fabled Criare Sunmane, Fabled Babnoxis, Fabled Pyronis, Fabled Magmaton, Fabled Chancellor Traxom, Fabled Mithaniel Marr, Fabled Reaxnous the Chaoslord, Fabled Azobian the Darklord, Fabled Hebabbilys the Ragelord, Fabled Javonn the Overlord, Fabled Chancellor Kirtra, Fabled Omni Magus Crato, Fabled Warlord Prollaz, Fabled Bertoxxulous, Fabled Arch Magus Yozanni, Fabled Jaxoliz Dawneyes, Fabled Criare Sunmane, Fabled Xuzl, Fabled Arlyxir, Fabled Rizlona, Fabled Protector of Dresolik, Fabled General Reparm, Fabled Jiva, Fabled Grioihin, Fabled Hydrotha, Fabled Krziik the Mighty, Fabled Vallon Zek, Fabled Peregrin Rockskull, Fabled Perfected Warder of Earth, Fabled Monstrous Mudwalker, and Fabled Grummus.

Now that was a hell of a month! According to the auditing team at Arthur Anderson, we scored approximately 337 fabled loots! And in one final Fabled orgy on the last night of Fabled mobs, we managed to knock out fourteen mobs in a four-hour marathon! (Amended - Fableds were extended one more night in which Fury downed another ten mobs.) Many thanks to SoE for giving us this brief change of pace and all of the good upgrades to help us move along.

Now back to progression!

Stay Frosty

Fury has been working Frostcrypt raids the last few weeks!

Hearol is a fan favorite:

Especially when he bites the dust.

He's died several times now, but on our first kill congrats to Dolgar (Torn Shawl of the Ice Priest), Khromm (Tattered Cryptrobber's Cloak), Abgnomel (A Timeworn Glove Mold), and Comatos (A Timeworn Bracer Mold).

We've also defeated the Three Brothers, Shadow Selves, Overwhelming Numbers, and Shades of Calm events.

Then we came up on this momo:

He has some friends.

He took us several tries... but of course now he regularly looks like this:

He's on farm status now - on the first kill congrats to Abif (A Timeworn Glove Mold), Froggyaid (A Timeworn Bracer Mold), Madkanki (Iceweave Cloak of Blackest Night), and Yokozuno (Polished Pauldrons of Pearlescent Ice).

This means Fury is flagged for Frostcrypt 2; we'll come back to that in the next update.

Now for the favorite fun quotes!

Fury is still recruiting exceptional players of all classes! Please visit our messageboard's New Recruits Applications forum for details.

Come On' Ride the Train...

All Aboard!!!

Well, we're approaching the end of January, and the VF locomotive is definitely at full steam. Since our last update, we have stayed entirely focused on TSS when we aren't farming DPoB and DK, and it has paid off with some rapid successes.

Last week, we returned to Valdeholm to have a few words with King Odeen. After chasing him all over the zone and dispatching the various roadblocks he put up, he finally came to his senses and granted us access to the raid instances of Frostcrypt.

Congrats to Ilsidri on (Robe of the Driving Rains), Rylak on (Gefia's Gift), and Zemm on (Lute of Longing).

Then just last night, the call was made to give the Vergalid raid a shot. We had previously tried this event many months ago, with it ending in a mass corpse summoning after Nurtha Frazzlesprocket and her clockwork machines proceeded to lay a severe beatdown on our raid force. Well obviously last night was much different. In a show of force that caught even us off guard, her clockwork minions were sent to the junkyard and Nurtha became a nice streak of floor paste on the cavern ground.

Congrats to Desh on (Vermin Model IV's Diseased Bauble), Yokozuno on (Gnomework Model XVII's Experimental Plate Backing), and Lashden on (Vermin Model IV's Diseased Harness).

We quickly marched on and dispatched Goru Uldrock the Reincarnate with ease.

Congrats to Kire and Jerras on (Goru's Girdle of the Deceased).

And in wrapping up the night, we moved into the lair of the corrupted dragon, Vergalid. The fight started off a bit shaky as we were figuring out what to do, but quickly turned into a show of domination. In the end, we lay over his corpse, celebrating our newly acquired access to the raids of Ashengate. These three "Fury Firsts" wrapped up an exciting night. I think it will be safe to say that Vergalid will continue to be a nice farm raid as we move into the end zones of the TSS expansion.

Congrats to Rosary on (Spaulders of Dooming Exile), and Vangarth on (Vergalid's Infectious Cloak).

In SoF expansion news, the majority of the guild is now 80. When not working on TSS faction, a good chunk of the guild is now keyed for Meldrath's Majestic Mansion and Crystallos. These zones should provide for some nice upgrades during off-raid hours.

VF is still recruiting all classes. If you are interested in joining one of the elite guilds on Bristlebane, please visit our forums to learn more about level and AA requirements and post your application today! We're looking forward to meeting you!

A couple quotes to tide you over 'til next time:

Something Old, Something New

Fury has begun working flagging events for The Serpent's Spine expansion (TSS) the last few weeks. Between Demiplane and Deathknell farm sessions we've already had some success.

After finally getting most of the raid to the instance (because of a random teleport bug - Absor finally acknowledged and got it fixed - don't ask), we took out High Lorekeeper Udengar Dergon (feet in the corner yada yada):

Congrats to Faeggas (Warbound Leggings), Lilbitbad (High Lorekeeper Necklace of Office), Terranis (Loyalist Coat of Icemail), and Gitz (Illegible Diary of Lorekeeper Baeldon).

And speaking of Lilbitbad, please congratulate her on her promotion to officer of Veeshan's Fury! We have a lot of confidence in her. Plus the newbie gets to do DKP updating =p

In other progression news, we're working our way through the King Odeen event, expect to see an win for this immediately if not sooner. We love figuring out challenging events as we go!

And now for something completely different: Last weekend Sir Khromm the Savior (aren't those Mayong titles a hoot?) ran our last official Citadel of Anguish raid before it's knocked off our raid point listing. The objective was to avoid leaving loose ends such as expansion final bosses. So, read it and weep:

Even at ten levels over the Omens of War limit, he was no walk in the park. But it gives you a little, shall we say, breathing room for mistakes. Congrats to Rifer (Hammer of Rancorous Thoughts), Kire (Shroud of Eternal Agony), and Lashden (Jayruk's Vest). Drathkin was also awarded his Epic 2.0 globe.

And the traditional randomness:

We all love Christmas time, when Abif waxes poetic:

Love, Oppressor Bulbous the Emancipator

2 Up, 2 Down

Fury has closed out two expansions in as many weeks.

Shortly after my last post, Ayonae Ro fell to our might, allowing us to finish out Prophecy of Ro:

Not real sure what Rylak is saying there, he appears to be trying to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.

I've gotta say, that's a pretty darn easy final expansion boss. Congrats to loot winners Silvs (
Harpstring Hair Choker), Rylak (Glass Orb of Consonance), and Comatos (Symbol of Energic). We're gonna hit it every time it's up.

And one of the most fabled mobs of all Everquest, Mayong Mistmoore, bit the dust this week. Here he is being tanked by a dwarf, which is as it should be.

But they always end up as a couple of feet sticking out of a corner.

More congrats to Vangarth (Forgotten Artist's Mesh Wristwraps), Leezaard (Wristguards of the Vampire Hunter), Karua (Dometrius, the Master's Burden), and Lashden (Invocation of Night).

That finishes Depths of Darkhollow. It's pretty cool to finally see a lockout list that looks like this:

Now that we've finished these two expansions and are farming them, we're moving on to working the next one, The Serpent's Spine (TSS). Expect to see some win updates soon.

In addition, Secrets of Faydwer came out a couple of weeks ago, so everyone has been busy leveling to 80 and exploring the new content. We'll see how the new mudflated gear affects older raiding grounds; but for the moment we plan to farm the hell out of what we've beaten.

Now for random foolishness.

On The Verge

As predicted in the last update, we did indeed smoke the second Deathknell event, Vertigo, the following week:

Fun event, a bit frantic but that's what coffee and Stadium Pal are for. Congrats to loot winners Mulel (Golden Mothdust Necklace), Lilbitbad (Symbol of Expressivo) and Abif (Mayong's Buckled Girdle). That naughty Mayong Mistmoore... always leaving his stuff lying around.

I like the backflag drops on each event here too, although the lack of a fetter kinda bites.

Continuing on our roll, just a few days later... another VF first kill, Deathknell Event three: Unwelcome Guests!

More congratulations to Terranis (Conductor's Suede Gloves), Calib (Marble-Soled Boots), and Gestyn (Tear-Soaked Lanyard).

That's three out of four. After evaluating our fetter inventory, I believe it's about time to go ahead and visit the annoying silencing woman herself.

You're next, cutie.

Oh, yeah. Weekly farms of tier 1 and tier 2 of Demi-Plane of Blood continue, except for Mayong. The bane weapons are building up, and we plan to attempt him asap. Check back here to see a corpse shot very soon!

Moving Right Along

Fury's been hitting Demiplane hard the last few weeks and continues to plow ahead.

We defeated the last event before Mayong, the Performer:

At first I wasn't sure about this event, but it's grown on me. Watching the whole guild do karaoke while beating on tons of mobs is a sight to see. And if you sing off-key, everyone knows it.

Fury has also knocked off the first event in Deathknell, Tolling of the Bells. I don't have a screenshot of that (there's not really anything to shoot) so here's a funny bell picture.

Came close to winning the second event as well, we'll get it next week.

And now, since I don't have any new chat funnies, here are some random oldies-but-goodies.

See ya in-game.

VF in Summer

Recruiting plug, we always are, and we could use a few more good Enchanters and Druids among other things. All classes are open, check the boards for more information.

VF had a very solid couple of months to end the summer, quite a few Fury Firsts. We’re pushing through the last bits of Demiplane and looking forward to getting Deathknell into the rotation.
We learned Hatchet in early July,

and knocked him out later that month.

We hadn’t attempted Redfang for a long time,

and we bloodied him up early in our August campaign.

The very next night we met Devlin’s Spirit (means we won).

A couple weeks later in August we met Tris’ Spirit.

And just two nights ago, Adrianna’s Spirit and Roley’s spirit.

Here’s to a solid Fall campaign and some levelling in Winter.

First time in Deathknell.

She fell faster than an Atlanta Falcons QB.

Desh is dead.

I have no words.

I’m looking forward to the coming months, both for what VF will do and because the NFL spawns next week. The VFFFL is up again for the 4th straight year. Past winners Gert, Kwark and Morrbidd will attempt to repeat. I’ll attempt to not finish in 5th place for the 4th straight year.

Until next time, go VF and go Seahawks.
